2018/2019 Striper Mafia Tournament Series on Smith Mountain Lake, VA
The Striper Mafia is hosting our third season of a "CPR" (Catch-Photo-Release) tournament series on Smith Mountain Lake, VA. Events will be held in October, December, March & April during which the "slot" is in place to protect our larger fish, and be conducted in a "Catch-Photo-Release" style. The format will feature a Captain's meeting on the evening before at a location to be defined to review the rules and hand out approved measuring devices & photo token cards and "lines in water" will follow at safe-light as designated for each tournament, with the "check-in" at a time to be determined later that day. Tournament fees are to be paid at the Captain's Meeting (in cash). Pre-registration is encouraged due to the limited number of slots, but we ask that you have full intention of fishing the event before registering.

Big Fish (optional - per tournament): $25 Youth Competition
Youth (15 and under) may participate in an overlay competition in which they participate as a part of a team, and submit one fish from the team's catch as their entry into the Youth Competition. 1st - 3rd Place trophies & prizes will be awarded - and all Youth participants not placing will be eligible for a Youth only raffle for prizes. Ladies Big Fish of the SeriesThe lady angler who catches the longest fish of the 4-event series will win a Reactor timepiece valued at $500, donated by Haywood Jewelers'.

Team of the Year is determined by the best three event scores, with the top 20 teams in each event being awarded points. |
Reelin' for Rae Rae Benefit Tournament - 1/12/19

The Striper Mafia, along with Magnum Point Marina and Crazy Horse Marina are honored to host a benefit tournament for Reagan Owen and the Owen family. Reagan is currently battling Leukemia and undergoing chemo treatments at Duke Hospital. Funds raised through the Reelin' for Rae Rae will go directly to the family to assist with medical & related expenses.

This tournament will follow the format of the Striper Mafia events - Catch-Photo-Release, 2-fish total length, and an optional Big Fish pot. We will also have a Youth competition as a part of the event, and several silent auctions/raffles for some additional donated items. The format will feature a Captain's meeting on the evening before at Cancun Mexican Restaurant to review the rules and hand out approved measuring devices & photo token cards and "lines in water" will follow at safe-light as designated for the tournament, with the "check-in" between 3 & 4 on Saturday the 12th. Tournament fees are to be paid at the Captain's Meeting (in cash). Pre-registration is encouraged due to the limited number of slots, but we ask that you have full intention of fishing the event before registering - pre-registration can be done at www.StriperMafia.com/registration Rules will be posted on the website, but the only material changes from our normal series rules is that we are removing the exclusion for a guide fishing with clients for this event only. Also, the Tournament Director will be fishing in this tournament as a competitor, unlike the regular events. This event does NOT count as a part of the overall Striper Mafia Tournament Series Team of the Year, Big Fish of the Series or Ladies Big Fish competitions.

Big Fish (optional - per tournament): $25 Captain's MeetingA mandatory Captain's Meeting will be held at Cancun Mexican Restaurant from 6 - 9pm on Friday, 1/11. At least one member of the team must attend to pay entry fees and provide signed release form and collect token card & measuring device. This should only take 10-15 minutes, but consider staying and dining at the restaurant to support them.
If a team is pre-registered no later than 7pm on 1/10, and they wish to pick up their materials and pay at Magnum Point Marina on the Blackwater on Friday 1/11, they can do so by notifying the tournament director. Tournament Payouts70% of Team Entry Fees will go to the cause. 30% will be used for payouts. Magnum Point Marina has guaranteed $1000 to 1st Place with additional places paying out of entry fees. Big Fish will be a 50% payout with 50% going to the cause.
